It's time for a new Barry....

It is so easy to simply pick events at random and talk about them as if they were a singular event and not a part of a pattern or series of events.

As an example, there is much to do today about the tragic death of 30 Americans, killed in action in Afghanistan. Of these 30 Americans, 22 are Navy Seals…from the same Seal Unit 6 that killed Osama bin Laden. (it seems that none of the Seals involved in the Bin Laden event were part of the soldiers killed in Afghanistan.)

This was a tragic and horrible event, but unfortunately is the norm in times of war. Stuff happens, people die…it is war.

But can this event be looked at as just an unfortunate event in a war, or could there be more to it?

I believe it was May 2, 2011 when the Liar-in-Chief crowed about killing Osama bin Laden. The world breathed a collective sigh of relief as more details became apparent and it became clear that this villain was indeed dead.

The President wasted no time in getting political points for the event, and made it clear that it was a Navy Seal operation….not just that it was Navy Seals, but it was Navy seal unit 6!

Was that declaration of success at the hands of Navy Seal Unit 6 a possible precursor to yesterday’s events? Can we really take these two episodes individually without at the very least considering that a straight line could be drawn connecting these two dots?

Of course, one would have to believe that somebody in connection with the Taliban was also aware of the exact whereabouts of the Seals, so as to allow for their destruction. Ok…so now we learn that it was a group of Rangers attempting to get a high ranking Taliban that found themselves under enemy fire and pinned down. The seals, of course, rushed to help…and were shot down.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t have to think too hard to question whether there may have been a Muslim or Muslim sympathizer who was fully aware of the Seals location, and could pass this information to the Taliban, who are certainly smart enough to lay a trap. You don’t think it could happen? Just think Fort Hood, and ask yourself again whether it could happen!

We don’t know whether that is a realistic scenario for this event….but we DO know that it COULD be.

That fact alone should have been enough for our President to have avoided releasing details of the Unit who got Bin Laden. By doing that he made every member of Seal Unit 6 a target for specific action.

This is a perfect example of drawing a straight line between two dots. It doesn’t matter whether there was a direct link between the Presidents release of that information and the events of yesterday, but there could have been. And that is enough to show that this President lacks any semblance of mental acuity. In fact all intelligence he may have had has well and truly been sacrificed on the altar of campaigning.

We can never take one event in isolation from another as there is usually a cause and effect relationship between even the most innocuous actions.

On the other hand, it is sometimes incredibly easy to see the cause and effect.

On Friday, Standard & Poors, downgraded US credit to AA+. Does this surprise you? If you were caught unaware, then I suspect you haven’t been reading my posts often enough…. J

It is clear that the Administration hasn’t because this seems to have caught them with their pants down. The sight of the administration playing duck and cover has been somewhat entertaining, although very predictable.

The flamethrowers have been brought out and the tea party is set up as the villain in this drama. It was the tea party that caused the delay in successful completion of the debt ceiling negotiations because they simply refused to negotiate and agree with the left.

I fail to see how the approximately 85 tea party candidates who won seats in 2010 can actually prevent the passage of anything. That represents less than 20% of the House….so what prevented the House from passing legislation more agreeable to the left?

What’s that? The Republicans control the House? Yes, indeed they do….but the tea party candidates do NOT control the Republican side of the House.

No…the truth is that the Republicans tried to find a way to reduce spending, keep taxation under control and balance spending in the future through a balanced budget.

While the Democrats presented NOTHING!

Standard & Poors is on record as saying that the reason for the reduction in their rating was that the government has shown it has no real desire to face and resolve the LONG TERM DEBT issue. They indicated back in April that a spending cut of at least $4 TRILLION was needed to prevent a downgrade. They were very clear.

And now the White House is angry at S&P, threatening legal action and all that crap. And S&P did exactly what they said they would have to do if the US government did not take steps to get the long term debt under control.

The Administration’s response to the downgrade is exactly as expected from an organization run by a liar…..

-         divert blame

-         blame Bush

-         intimidate S&P

-         demonize tea party

-         claim no responsibility

SO…you all know that I have no time for this ignorant fool we have as President.

If only we had a president who thinks like this, and was brave enough to say it in public….

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

Wouldn’t you love a President like this?

Unfortunately, you have one.

That was said by Barack Hussein Obama, on 20 March 2006 on the Floor of the Senate, urging Congress not to tolerate an increase that would bring the debt ceiling to $9 trillion.

Can we draw a straight line between Obama in 2006 and the reduction in the Credit Rating on Friday?

Not to hard to see it…even Obama knew it 5 years ago!

So, if our politicians are so quick to play party politics on the back of the American worker, where do we find a leader we can trust?

Reagan was a good man and a fine President. But in these times we need more than what Reagan offered.

We need a man or woman who is willing to speak the truth even when it is unpopular…

Two quotes come to mind that will help us determine when we have found the RIGHT person….

"To my mind the power possessed and exercised by the bureaucrats in Washington represents the most dangerous situation in America. If the wrong man should come along and be elected president, we could see a dictatorship erected almost overnight, and it would stem from Congress' failure to live up to its responsibilities. Because the power held in these bureaucratic agencies is power given to them by the Congress which - and I must tell it like it is - was just too damned lazy to take on the job itself." 

This is the sort of no nonsense, tell it like it is statements we need form our candidate….

And…

“I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size.  I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom.  My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.  It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden.  I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is ‘needed’ before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible.”

Unless we find a candidate who talks like this, who takes actions based solely on these words, and is unafraid of the bullies on the left, we are doomed to leave our country open to tyranny.

America had a man like this. The man who is quoted above…a Barry of a different sort…

Barry Goldwater lost to incumbent President Lyndon Johnson, 1964, in one of the largest landslides ever.

And yet, Goldwater is now considered to have been instrumental in advancing conservatives, and the libertarian movement.

Goldwater was the right voice…but clearly at the wrong time.

What would happen if a Goldwater appeared today? What would his chance of success be? Have enough people seen the decline in American prosperity under liberal/progressive policies to return to the sound precepts of conservatism? Or have too many people learned to suck at the governments teat, with no intention or desire for the freedom that conservatism promises?

I don’t know the answer to these questions. I do know that more of the same from Republican candidates will get the same result.

It is time for resurgence in conservatism. It is time for a new Goldwater.

In a few hours, the markets will open in New York. Will they collapse like in Israel (6%) or will they thrive based on the great Obama economic recovery?

We all know the answer to that, as we all know that the next rating downgrade is just around the corner.

How long shall we wait before we make it clear that we want a candidate with the strength of Goldwater?

Liberals...or misguided conservatives?

As you know I have been trying to ignore the stupidity in Washington but it is so compelling that it is very hard to turn away...the train wreck that is our President keeps showing us that he has no clue. The Democratic leadership keeps lying to us and stupid stuff keeps being repeated ad nauseum in the media. The Republicans are under pressure to make a deal....that pressure being applied by....the train-wreck President and the lying democrats.

Give me a break! Enough already!

When I listened to the utter garbage that Pelosi spewed yesterday in a speech to union members in Washington, I have to simply cringe.

Gems like this.

"They don’t just want to make cuts, they want to destroy. They want to destroy food safety, clean air, clean water, the department of education."


Really? Really?


how about this one....

“They do not like the government. They’re riding an engine of popular support for, ok we have to reduce the deficit. And they’re using that to destroy.”

It got me thinking about a number of things.

Firstly, I find it hard to believe that the progressives today actually believe this stuff. I find it hard to believe that they actually think the motivation behind conservatives is to destroy our air, destroy our water, reign death and destruction over all the lands....crazy stuff. And if they do believe it? Then they have all climbed aboard the crazy train with their chief engineers Pelosi and Reid.

I will come back to this point later in this post...as that is what I am really wanting to examine today.

Before that, I want to spend a few minutes looking at how such blatant stupidity and lies get to be applauded by the followers.

It is clear to me that for lies to work, they must have some degree of believability. They must have a base truth that is either perceived by the listener to be true (even though it is not) or an actual truth.

If we look at Pelosi's statements above, there is the use of an ACTUAL truth to give validity to her claims.

That actual truth is: 

“They do not like the government. They’re riding an engine of popular support for, ok we have to reduce the deficit."


Damn right Pelosi! We DO NOT like Government. We want the government to get the hell out of our lives. We do have an engine of popular support for reducing the deficit...every poll taken shows that. You, ma'am are about to find yourself on the wrong side of history at the next election...and you know it. You have already stated the truth!


And then she goes and spoils it all by saying something stupid like:
"They don’t just want to make cuts, they want to destroy. They want to destroy food safety, clean air, clean water, the department of education."


Oh well...I guess I have to ask this question....if it looks like a clown, and talks like a clown, and acts like a clown , what is it? It is a member of Obama's sycophant clown posse. You don't have to be scared of clowns to be alarmed at this group....led by the Deceiver-in-Chief, they are nothing but a joke in their big shoes and sloppy pants. They are sure not big enough to fill those britches!!


Enough of Pelosi and her stupidity....


Although I have to thank her because she got me thinking in a different direction...and that is always an interesting experience.


When I think of the stupidity that sprouts from her mouth, and the mouth of her co-clown captain, Harry Reid, I have to wonder....


When you all were sitting in the mud and rain, enjoying Woodstock (and now regretful that you left early and missed one of the greatest renditions of the National Anthem EVER, played before a mere couple of thousand hangers-on on the Monday morning...by the late great Jimmi Hendrix)..do you really think your idea of the great progressive movement, destined to solve the world's problems, was in fact Pelosi and Reid? Is that what you envisaged? Are they the picture of liberalism that you would have embraced so fully had they been around then? Is that really what you aspired to?


I can't quite reconcile my knowledge of the Woodstock, summer of love, so-called hippy freedom movement, with the likes of Pelosi and Reid. If I am right, why are they there? Can someone tell me that?


So, it got me to thinking.


Are liberals today really liberals or are they simply misguided, uneducated conservatives?


I could throw in intellectually lazy as well...but I don't want to offend anybody here....lol.


So, to make it easy, I have designed a short quiz to test whether you are a liberal/progressive or a misguided conservative.


1. Do you regularly, or occasionally, give gifts to charitable organisations such as faith based institutions (churches) or organisations such as Save the Children?


If you said yes, you are likely to be a conservative, as liberals rely on government to provide charitable giving.


2. Do you believe that natural resources should be protected, managed and utilized carefully so that they will be available to future generations? Do you believe you have a responsibility to ensure that?


If you said yes, you could be conservative, because that is what they believe. Liberals believe it is the government who must control and protect natural resources by passing legislation to prevent people enjoying them!


3. Do you believe somebody should be able to walk into your home, sit down, eat your food and stay as long as they like, without your approval?


If you said no, you are likely a conservative. Liberals believe that anyone should be able to live wherever they want.


4. Do you believe you should be able to choose what car you drive, what food you eat, what you read, what you do and what you believe?


If you said yes, you are likely a conservative. Liberals believe that the government should determine what is best for you to drive, eat read and believe. Liberals believe the individual is incapable of making the best decisions for their own lives.


5. Do you try to balance your home budget, trying to spend no more than you receive? Do you try to pay your bills on time out of the money you earn from your own blood, sweat and tears?


If you said yes, you are likely to be a conservative. Liberals believe that what you earn should be spread around so that other people can pay their bills using YOUR blood, sweat and tears to provide the money.


6. Do you believe that two people doing the same job should get the same pay, the same opportunities for advancement and the same recognition, regardless of sexual orientation, skin color, ethnicity or religion?

If you said yes, you are likely a conservative.Liberals believe that members of a minority group should have extra opportunities and have legislated exactly that. It is called affirmative action and bestows more rights on certain classes of people than others. This is the equality you believe in, right?

7. Do you believe that everybody should pay a fair share of the costs of government?

If you said yes, you are likely a conservative. Liberals believe that some people should pay more and others none of the costs of Government. This is their idea of equality.

8. Do you believe that the money you earn is your money, not your neighbors?

If you said yes, you are likely a conservative. Liberals believe the money you earn is community property to be used by whoever needs it.

9. Do you believe that when you buy a car, you can put whatever you want on it to make it work better. You can chose who can drive it and who will wash it. Do you believe your mechanic should be paid more for keeping it safe than the car washer who keeps it clean?

If you said yes, you are likely a conservative. Liberals believe they must control what you do with your own property in order to keep others safe. They tell you who you MUST employ (affirmative action) and how much you must pay them (minimum wage).

And finally...
10) Do you believe in certain God given rights that the Government is required to protect as demanded by the Constitution?

If so, you are a conservative. Liberals rarely believe in God, cannot distinguish between God given rights and man-made rules, and have no concern for the Constitution.

So...are you really a liberal, or simply just a misguided and confused conservative?

The liberal/progressive movement has been so good at creating new meanings for words, that many democrats of old do not realize that their party has abandoned them. They do not yet realize that they are really conservatives but follow the likes of Pelosi and Reid simply because they are democrats.

If we all practice intellectual honesty, question and understand not only what we believe but WHY we believe it, the conservative groundswell will be so powerful that all the left-wing marxists, the socialists, the communists, the liars in office and the clowns that support them will be forced to retreat in the face of insurmountable odds. They will be finished!

So, I implore you to challenge the thinking of your liberal friends and families. Do not try to win the battle of ideology. That is NOT where your weapons are strongest. Fight the battle of belief, the battle of what they truly deep down know is right. From there, you can guide them to the understanding that MOST Americans are conservative, and that the liberal/progressive movement has hijacked the democrat party and made a mockery of the Constitution we all love.

Once upon a Wednesday - how to defeat dragons!

Wednesday already!

Where has the time gone? So much to do, so few days in which to do it.

Today I want to talk about dragons...you know...those fierce fire belching creatures of fairy tales. Well I am here to tell you they are real...they exist...but they can be slain.

As C.K.Chesterton wrote (and I paraphrase)..." Fairy tales do not teach children that dragons exist. Children already know that. Fairy tales teach them that the dragons can be slain."

What is the dragon attacking 21st Century USA? What vile creature is appearing out of nowhere with no more warning than the sounds of its wings beating the air as it selects its target and attacks?

It is the dragon of 21st century progressivism. Liberalism gone mad. Nothing more than a rabid memory of the democrats of yore.

To label the current crop of liberals as democrats is just wrong. They are a truly different beast. They are dragons circling the ineffective conservative defenses, their acrid breath turning staunch conservatives to jelly as they await the moment to fully engage with fire from their belly devouring the last remnants of common sense.

Dragons...with no sense of moral right or wrong, with no sense of integrity, but with an extremely well developed sense of survival. Dragons who will turn on their supporters, their friends, perhaps even their children, if it means political survival. Dragons who are crafty enough to succor their enemies, give credence to straw men and support any vile untruth if it gets them one step closer to total annihilation of this country.

We have one such dragon sitting in the White House, enjoying caviar and lobster while his dragon wife tells us what to eat...and warns of the danger of obesity while serving fries and hot-dogs (a healthy combination) to guests at their super-bowl party.

We have these dragons entertaining friends and people they believe can assist their nefarious dreams (from his father) at regular concerts held at the White House. (have you ever noticed how many black entertainers have been invited to perform? How many white entertainers have been?)

There is a way to defeat the racist dragons that plunder our economy, belching their nonsense and lies as they steal the very bread from your table. But, as with fairy tales, the brave prince who tries to defeat the dragon has many trials and dangers ahead of him. I intend to provide some sign posts for that brave prince to follow, so that he (or she....let's not be sexist here) can avoid the pitfalls that have destroyed those that went before....

1. The first piece of advice is to grow a pair! Do not be afraid to stand up and tell the world the truth. One thing I admired about Donald Trump was his willingness to stand up for what he believed. He was not cowed by the army of dragons huffing and puffing ...he stood his ground and refused to bow to that greatest injustice of all, political correctness. If anyone wants to fight these dragons, he/she must stubbornly hold their ground in the face of political correctness. Trump could never be the man to lead the revolt against the dragons, but he was sure able to show how it could be done!

2. Have a tough skin. It does matter what color this prince/princess is. This hero of mankind will be subjected to taunts because of color. If a black person, it will be said that he is running because he is black , and because white people know that a white person cannot compete for fear of being called a racist. If a white person is the hero, the race card will be played EVERY time. The dragons think they have this locked in...either way they can win. What they don't understand is that it works ONLY IF the hero cares what they say about him. A thick skin that does not give a hoot what the dragons think is essential for success.

3. NO COMPROMISE. How many times do conservatives make a stand only to fold at the last minute. Well, it is time they acted like they held 4 aces....the house is controlled by conservatives now yet they fall like dominoes every time the dragons say something like"if the budget is not passed it will be your fault"...pathetic!! Nobody holds any faith in the heroes when they give up and surrender at the first sign of disapproval from people whose opinions are based on ideologies completely opposed to their own. What sort of mamby pamby emasculated girly men do we have in conservative politics today? For success we conservatives must KNOW what we believe, act strongly on those beliefs, and not compromise on anything. Compromise means that the left wins, albeit a little slower than they wanted. Nevertheless, the dragons gain a little more strength and confidence. No compromise...compromise feeds the dragons!

4. Know your enemy. Our hero is going to be facing the impossible task of not only battling a political machine of enormous strength and firepower, but a media that long ago stopped reporting news and started campaigning for the prince of dragons. Add to that the millions of ordinary folk who have fallen under the spell of the dark prince and believe he will lead them to the promised land if only they will take up arms and help him defeat the voice of reason. Our hero has to have the strength of emotional Hercules to defeat such odds and the wisdom of Solomon to know where the next deceptive attack will come from. Our hero is limited by his adherence to truth, which must not be sacrificed on the alter of success as that further emboldens the dragons to victory. The only thing these dragons fear is truth itself. Our hero must stand strong and deliver truth to the masses, simply, coherently and not be distracted or diverted by the straw men the dragons continually build. Do not believe a single word from your enemies, or your friends. Know what is true in your heart. Do not fight to win an election. Fight to defend truth, for it is only by defending truth at every turn that you will find the strength to battle the vast array of dragons that will form a never ending line to destroy you. Know the enemy within as well as the enemy without.

Is there anyone who can withstand the brutal attacks that will be aimed at whoever has the nerve to go against the prince of deceit? Does anyone have the honor to admit when they are wrong? To change their opinions as they seek the truth? To show the world that the dragon ways are not the natural way?

I honestly do not know. I see signs of possibilities in the likes of Herman Cain, and Michele Bachman. I see supporting actors in large numbers. I have not yet seen the person who will stand up and say..."I do not care what anyone thinks of me. I am here to kill the dragon. And I will do that, whether you follow me or not. I will never give up and I will fight until that metaphorical dragon's head is stuck on a spike and displayed for all to see what happens to enemies of this country!"

Do we have any heroes left? I have to believe we do.

If we don't, then every child will know that fairy tales lied...and dragons can not be defeated.

Do we want our children to live in fear of dragons? Or do we want to show them that while dragons do exist, and that sometimes they gather sufficient strength to terrorize all that is good in this world, there will always be a hero that comes galloping on their white stallion with no more than his or her faith as protection, who will fight for good and slay the dragon.

More than any other time in modern history, we need a dragon-slayer. But history has always shown that great heroes appear when great heroes are needed.
