It's time for a new Barry....

It is so easy to simply pick events at random and talk about them as if they were a singular event and not a part of a pattern or series of events.

As an example, there is much to do today about the tragic death of 30 Americans, killed in action in Afghanistan. Of these 30 Americans, 22 are Navy Seals…from the same Seal Unit 6 that killed Osama bin Laden. (it seems that none of the Seals involved in the Bin Laden event were part of the soldiers killed in Afghanistan.)

This was a tragic and horrible event, but unfortunately is the norm in times of war. Stuff happens, people die…it is war.

But can this event be looked at as just an unfortunate event in a war, or could there be more to it?

I believe it was May 2, 2011 when the Liar-in-Chief crowed about killing Osama bin Laden. The world breathed a collective sigh of relief as more details became apparent and it became clear that this villain was indeed dead.

The President wasted no time in getting political points for the event, and made it clear that it was a Navy Seal operation….not just that it was Navy Seals, but it was Navy seal unit 6!

Was that declaration of success at the hands of Navy Seal Unit 6 a possible precursor to yesterday’s events? Can we really take these two episodes individually without at the very least considering that a straight line could be drawn connecting these two dots?

Of course, one would have to believe that somebody in connection with the Taliban was also aware of the exact whereabouts of the Seals, so as to allow for their destruction. Ok…so now we learn that it was a group of Rangers attempting to get a high ranking Taliban that found themselves under enemy fire and pinned down. The seals, of course, rushed to help…and were shot down.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t have to think too hard to question whether there may have been a Muslim or Muslim sympathizer who was fully aware of the Seals location, and could pass this information to the Taliban, who are certainly smart enough to lay a trap. You don’t think it could happen? Just think Fort Hood, and ask yourself again whether it could happen!

We don’t know whether that is a realistic scenario for this event….but we DO know that it COULD be.

That fact alone should have been enough for our President to have avoided releasing details of the Unit who got Bin Laden. By doing that he made every member of Seal Unit 6 a target for specific action.

This is a perfect example of drawing a straight line between two dots. It doesn’t matter whether there was a direct link between the Presidents release of that information and the events of yesterday, but there could have been. And that is enough to show that this President lacks any semblance of mental acuity. In fact all intelligence he may have had has well and truly been sacrificed on the altar of campaigning.

We can never take one event in isolation from another as there is usually a cause and effect relationship between even the most innocuous actions.

On the other hand, it is sometimes incredibly easy to see the cause and effect.

On Friday, Standard & Poors, downgraded US credit to AA+. Does this surprise you? If you were caught unaware, then I suspect you haven’t been reading my posts often enough…. J

It is clear that the Administration hasn’t because this seems to have caught them with their pants down. The sight of the administration playing duck and cover has been somewhat entertaining, although very predictable.

The flamethrowers have been brought out and the tea party is set up as the villain in this drama. It was the tea party that caused the delay in successful completion of the debt ceiling negotiations because they simply refused to negotiate and agree with the left.

I fail to see how the approximately 85 tea party candidates who won seats in 2010 can actually prevent the passage of anything. That represents less than 20% of the House….so what prevented the House from passing legislation more agreeable to the left?

What’s that? The Republicans control the House? Yes, indeed they do….but the tea party candidates do NOT control the Republican side of the House.

No…the truth is that the Republicans tried to find a way to reduce spending, keep taxation under control and balance spending in the future through a balanced budget.

While the Democrats presented NOTHING!

Standard & Poors is on record as saying that the reason for the reduction in their rating was that the government has shown it has no real desire to face and resolve the LONG TERM DEBT issue. They indicated back in April that a spending cut of at least $4 TRILLION was needed to prevent a downgrade. They were very clear.

And now the White House is angry at S&P, threatening legal action and all that crap. And S&P did exactly what they said they would have to do if the US government did not take steps to get the long term debt under control.

The Administration’s response to the downgrade is exactly as expected from an organization run by a liar…..

-         divert blame
-         blame Bush
-         intimidate S&P
-         demonize tea party
-         claim no responsibility

SO…you all know that I have no time for this ignorant fool we have as President.

If only we had a president who thinks like this, and was brave enough to say it in public….

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

Wouldn’t you love a President like this?

Unfortunately, you have one.

That was said by Barack Hussein Obama, on 20 March 2006 on the Floor of the Senate, urging Congress not to tolerate an increase that would bring the debt ceiling to $9 trillion.

Can we draw a straight line between Obama in 2006 and the reduction in the Credit Rating on Friday?

Not to hard to see it…even Obama knew it 5 years ago!

So, if our politicians are so quick to play party politics on the back of the American worker, where do we find a leader we can trust?

Reagan was a good man and a fine President. But in these times we need more than what Reagan offered.

We need a man or woman who is willing to speak the truth even when it is unpopular…

Two quotes come to mind that will help us determine when we have found the RIGHT person….

"To my mind the power possessed and exercised by the bureaucrats in Washington represents the most dangerous situation in America. If the wrong man should come along and be elected president, we could see a dictatorship erected almost overnight, and it would stem from Congress' failure to live up to its responsibilities. Because the power held in these bureaucratic agencies is power given to them by the Congress which - and I must tell it like it is - was just too damned lazy to take on the job itself."

This is the sort of no nonsense, tell it like it is statements we need form our candidate….

And…

“I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size.  I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom.  My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.  It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden.  I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is ‘needed’ before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible.”

Unless we find a candidate who talks like this, who takes actions based solely on these words, and is unafraid of the bullies on the left, we are doomed to leave our country open to tyranny.

America had a man like this. The man who is quoted above…a Barry of a different sort…

Barry Goldwater lost to incumbent President Lyndon Johnson, 1964, in one of the largest landslides ever.

And yet, Goldwater is now considered to have been instrumental in advancing conservatives, and the libertarian movement.

Goldwater was the right voice…but clearly at the wrong time.

What would happen if a Goldwater appeared today? What would his chance of success be? Have enough people seen the decline in American prosperity under liberal/progressive policies to return to the sound precepts of conservatism? Or have too many people learned to suck at the governments teat, with no intention or desire for the freedom that conservatism promises?

I don’t know the answer to these questions. I do know that more of the same from Republican candidates will get the same result.

It is time for resurgence in conservatism. It is time for a new Goldwater.

In a few hours, the markets will open in New York. Will they collapse like in Israel (6%) or will they thrive based on the great Obama economic recovery?

We all know the answer to that, as we all know that the next rating downgrade is just around the corner.

How long shall we wait before we make it clear that we want a candidate with the strength of Goldwater?

My credit limit saga.

I had an interesting discussion with my credit card company this morning.

I explained to them that while I had reached my credit limit, I had a plan.

My plan was really simple....instead of increasing my spending on restaurants, movies, entertainment etc by the expected 9% next year, I would restrict my spending to only an 8% increase.

Because of my new-found spending cuts, they should lend me a few more thousand dollars so that I could spend that extra 8%.

Well, don't laugh...it made sense to me at the time.

Unfortunately, I am not the federal government...and my credit card company is not Congress.

My ears are still ringing from the peals of laughter coming from the credit card representative. He said to me...

"So, you can't pay your debts unless you get more credit, right? And you have no plans to reduce your debt in future, and you plan to spend more in the future, thus requiring more credit, right? And to achieve this master plan, you need us to increase your credit limit now, even though you can't meet your existing bills without it?"

I said "Yep, that sounds about right!"

The guffaws that followed were very infectious....and I laughed with him...until he suddenly stopped and said "No!"

I was aghast! If I couldn't get my credit limit increased, I would not be able to meet my current bills!

When I told the representative this fact, he solemnly said...
"Well, instead of increasing your spending next year, why don't you try reducing it? If you do that, you won't need to increase your credit limit."

I said..."But, I plan to CUT spending next year, not increase it!"

He laughed again making it very clear..."A decrease in the amount of additional planned spending is NOT a cut in spending! A spending cut means you spend LESS than you did this year."

I thought about this for a minute...it seemed kind of logical....but then it hit me that I had the perfect argument....

"You know, I COULD do that....but that would be very bad ultimately. If I didn't go out to restaurants as often, the restaurant workers would lose their jobs, and couldn't feed their families. If I stopped going to the movies, all those actors and support people would lose their jobs and couldn't feed THEIR families. I can't be responsible for their future difficulties...so I have to keep spending. What would they do if I didn't support them? So I have to keep spending...and it is in your best interests to allow me to, or all these people out of work will default on their credit card payments. So you have no choice !""

The guffaws at the other end of the phone were even louder than last time. When they subsided he simply said to me..

"What do you think we are? Democrats?"

Let's party like we live in the White House!

Let me get this right.....it is only Tuesday today, right?

With the amount of stupidity seen in the last day or so, I would have sworn we had reached the weekly limit. Just goes to show that there is no limit on stupidity.

At least there is some signs of intelligence with Mitch McConnell clearly laying blame at Obama's feet, and stating that he doubts that the solution can be found for the debt question while this man remains in office. Good stuff. And John Boehner seems to have found a pair too.

But it seems that some in politics think there is no limit on how much debt the nation can carry.

But I digress....

My thoughts today revolve around something far more sinister than the onerous debt this nation carries. However the whole debt question is a very good example of what I find so disturbing.

Here's the thing.

Obama comes out yesterday and holds his dog and pony show, telling everyone how important it is to raise the debt ceiling. He once again demands that the wealthy pay their fair share. He explains that the middle classes carry too much of the burden and the rich are not. He sounds very reasonable when he says things like...:compromises are necessary, because if both parties do not move closer to each others position, no resolution is possible". (Paraphrased)

He tells everyone how he has moved in his position and will move further if the Republicans will just give up some ground too.

Huh?

This is the man who proposed a budget with a $1.6 trillion deficit for 2012. And NOW he says we have to deal with debt...we have to compromise...we have to work together? (Where does he think the deficit funding will come from?)

This President is the most deceitful, lying piece of crap ever to have sat in the oval office. The nature of politics is that you measure the temperature of the electorate and give them what they want in order to get re-elected. I get it. But in the past this has been largely moderated by the need to do what is right for the Country.

This President has no concern with what is right or wrong for the country. He has no moral compass, and no fear of recrimination. He will say whatever he needs to say to appease the voters. He will do whatever he needs to do to get the next vote. He is a total narcissist, unconcerned about anything but his own self interest.

So...let's have a quick look at what he does.

- he first states his position....very clearly...that as President of the country he has a responsibility to tell the folks what the realities are, but to be careful not to spook them

- he then says that if the debt limit is not increased your children will be unable to eat safe food

- he then attaches safe food to the jets used by corporate America and the wealthy...effectively saying that if they don't pay more for their jets, your kids won't get safe food

Now he is forced to move into a second stage of  his arguments because the first ones were not able to bring about the result he wanted...

- now he tells everyone how wonderful he is and that the republicans now have to move their ideals closer to his

- he blames the republicans for not being able to reach an agreement (notwithstanding the fact that his own party has not reached agreement)

- he develops the sound bytes for the liberal politicians to use...the rich must pay more so that social security payments can be met

- Charlie Rangel suddenly gets religion and asks what Jesus would do

- Harry Reid and Nacy Pelosi get more vocal about the millionaires and billionaires causing the problem

- corporate jets become the solution
(Don't forget that just a few years ago the use of accelerated depreciation rates for corporate jets was encouraged and fully supported by Obama....he now sees them as the perfect foil for his class warfare plans.)

- the threat of unsafe food for your kids was not immediate enough...so now he makes it clear that if the debt limit is not increased, your social security checks will possibly not get mailed...because there may not be enough money in the coffers.

Does this sound like a President who is a leader...who leads from the front, who encourages everybody to keep working through the tough times...who is uplifting, confident, pragmatic and assured of his role?

Or does it sound like a bully, a miscreant who gets what he wants at any cost, who lies, deceives, threatens and uses scare tactics in an attempt to mold his subjects into his way of thinking?

I know I will be accused of crazy talk. I know the left will call me a fool and worse. I know that I risk retaliation from readers by saying this...but I also will continue to expound the truth whatever the cost.

This President is the most insidious and dangerous person ever to be in the White House. He knows that 47% of the population pay NO income taxes. That is the 47% that will vote for him in the next election as long as he continues to promises to take from the wealthier and give to them.

He makes it clear that it is the government's role that everybody has the same opportunities. And gets the same results. Effort is NEVER included in these discussions except with the mandatory "if you work hard you will succeed" crap that he spouts from his mouth. What he means is, if you work hard and succeed, the government will take what you have and give it to the lazy who don't work hard!

This man is evil. I don't know how clearer I can make this. He wants YOUR money  to use to buy the votes and favor of everyone else. He wants your effort, to keep the country moving, so that his lazy constituents can vote for him. He wants the sweat from your brow to pay for the bad choices of the clueless.

As Maggie Thatcher said...socialism is wonderful, until you run out of other peoples money.

Well, that is about where this country is at right now. We have almost run out of other people's money and now have to borrow to stay alive. Sure we can steal some more from the wealthy, but that will not solve the problem...in fact it will make NO difference apart from buying votes from the clueless.

So...let's follow Obama's lead and raise our personal debt limits...and then do it again in 2 years...and again a year later. Let's just live beyond our means, and party like we live in the White House. Let's pay no regard to the concept of saving for the future, paying our bills, matching our expenses with our revenues.

Let's follow the President's lead and use the same responsible fiscal guidelines he uses.

How long do you think you could last that way? A year? Two? Maybe just a few months?

No problem....Obama will send you a check whenever you need one!

Stupid is as stupid says.

Charlie Rangel gets religion....lmao!

Charlie, Charlie, Charlie....what would Jesus do?

Are you serious? Charlie Rangel...under investigation for ethics violations, tells us to as what Jesus would do in regard to the debt limit?

This world truly has gone insane!!

To see just how insane, hold your nose and watch this video... http://video.foxnews.com/v/1046492473001/rangel-wonders-how-jesus-would-handle-debt-crisis

Rangel has suddenly become an expert on Christianity, Islam, and every faith in history...and uses this understanding to do several things:-

1. create a class war between the rich and the poor
2. to call corporate profits obscene
3. to make the debt question a moral question rather than a financial one

Friends, this is what we are up against. I do not care whether you are in favor of raising the debt limit, whether you are a cap, cut and balance person, or whether you demand the budget be balanced. It doesn't matter....what matters is that we cannot continue to allow our politicians (of any persuasion) to so easily redefine the questions, and to create straw men that have nothing to do with the discussions.

For starters...I doubt that Jesus would ever condone being in debt to the tune of $14.3 trillion dollars...do you?

Some people will throw Romans 13:8 at me as an example of the evils of debt..."Owe no man anything"...but that would be taking it out of context. Paul was speaking to the church who claimed they did not owe taxes and instructed them to owe no man anything, meaning to pay the taxes even if they were to a man.

The bible speaks of debt on may occasions but does not speak of it negatively, but rather as something that happens and stating that believers should pay their debts. It is harsh on the debt collector who refuses to show mercy.

To my knowledge, Jesus was silent on the question of debt.

So debt is not a faith question. Did you hear that Charlie? It is not a question of faith.

It remains a question of wisdom. We can turn to the bible for advice on that subject too...where we read in Proverbs 22:7 "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender".

SO, the Question, Charlie Rangle, should not be what would Jesus do....but is WISE to do. Jesus used debt in his parables but was not either for nor against it.

But is debt wise?

In some cases, I believe it is. Debt for the purpose of acquiring an asset (such as a home) can be what I call good debt IF the repayments are affordable and do not detract from your other financial responsibilities. Debt to acquire a vehicle should be avoided, if possible, and minimized. Going into debt to have the newest car, or the biggest TV or the vacation in Hawaii is just DUMB debt. Debt to maintain a certain standard of living is DUMB debt. Debt to pay your bills is even DUMBER debt.

Charlie, the debt the USA is incurring (at the rate of approximately $158 BILLION a month ....or $5.27 BILLION EVERY day...or $219 Million every hour...or $3.6 MILLION every minute...or  $60 thousand EVERY second!!) Just imagine...every second of the day, the US Government borrows more than most people earn in a year....just to pay it's bills.

And the Government says we have a revenue problem?

Ummm...it doesn't take a very smart person to know that it is a spending problem, not a revenue problem.

Charlie Rangel...just so you can understand this I will say it again...very slowly...

We do not have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem.

And rather than face the truth, the government refuses to accept that they have a spending problem, and simply tries to rape the wealthy even more to pay for their bad spending habits. By allowing the debt ceiling to increase, are we encouraging our government to face reality, or are we simply empowering them to go on their merry way, spending more and more, taking more and more from the taxpayer, until there is nothing left to take. And at that point no one will lend us anything...the credit cards are maxed out...and the hungry hoards will demand  (DEMAND) that the government feed them.

Hang on...haven't we seen that somewhere recently? Oh yes...Greece.

Of course we are nothing like Greece, right? We are the USA and that will NEVER happen here. Yeah right!

What would Jesus do? You tell me...but I suspect that Jesus would tear up the credit cards, work hard to pay down his debt, and reduce spending to the bone so that he would be beholden to no-one but his father.

What would you do, Rangel? Just go out and borrow more, right?

Idiot!!

Stupid is as stupid says.
